Welcome from Headteacher

A very warm welcome to Lilliput CE Infant School.

It is a tremendous privilege to serve as Headteacher of this remarkable school and community. Lilliput is a place filled with joy, ambition, kindness and opportunity; a place where children are encouraged to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

We are fortunate to work with children during what I believe are the most magical years of education. The infant years are a time of wonder, curiosity and discovery, when lifelong attitudes towards learning begin to take shape. We take this responsibility seriously. Every day, we strive to create a school where children feel safe, valued and inspired, developing not only the knowledge and skills they need for future success, but also a genuine love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives.

At Lilliput, we are unapologetically ambitious for every child. We know that a high-quality education has the power to transform life chances, open doors and create opportunities. Our curriculum is therefore rich, ambitious and academically rigorous, with high expectations for all. We want every child to leave us exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education and with the confidence to embrace the future.

At the same time, we are deeply committed to nurturing the whole child. Our distinctly Christian ethos lies at the heart of all we do, providing the foundation for a culture built upon our core values of Love, Respect and Service. These values shape our relationships, guide our decisions and help us to develop compassionate, thoughtful young people who understand their responsibilities to others and the positive contribution they can make to society.

We are blessed with a truly exceptional setting. Nestled close to the stunning Dorset coastline and surrounded by beautiful wooded grounds, our environment enriches our curriculum and provides endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Children benefit from regular Forest School sessions throughout the year, as well as our popular after-school Forest School Club, helping them to develop resilience, independence, creativity and a deep appreciation of the natural world. Our unique location inspires a sense of awe and wonder and helps bring learning vividly to life.

What makes Lilliput especially special, however, is our people. We have a talented, dedicated and passionate staff team who work tirelessly to ensure every child thrives. Their commitment, care and belief in children are evident in every aspect of school life. We are proud of the strong partnerships we build with parents, carers, our local community and the Church of the Holy Angels, recognising that children achieve their best when we work together.

We are also committed to being approachable and accessible. The senior leadership team and I consider it a privilege to serve this school community, and we value the trust that families place in us. Whether you are considering Lilliput for your child or are already part of our school family, we look forward to building a strong relationship with you and supporting your child every step of the way.

Children love coming to Lilliput, and that is exactly how we believe school should be. It is an exceptional place to learn, grow and belong, and I am delighted to welcome you to our community.
