Managing Allergies in School

Our schools manage allergies in accordance with our First Aid and Medical Conditions, Managing Medication and Allergy Policy which can be found on our policy pages here.

Our schools are ‘Allergy Aware’; this means that school staff have an awareness of allergies and the 14 key allergens; they understand how to deal with an anaphylactic episode and encourage pupils, visitors and parents to be allergy aware and ensure that their staff have a good awareness of allergens and how to manage a safe environment.

School Meals

All the meals we provide are nutritionally balanced and meet stringent government guidelines.  Information about the menu and details of all allergens along with the process for ordering meals are on individual providers website. Meals must be ordered at least a week in advance and can be done for a whole term if preferred.

Vegetarian diets are provided and most special dietary requirements can be catered for.

The first step is to register your child with the provider for your child's school, once this is done, meals can be ordered. If a special diet is required, for example because of an allergen or medical condition then the provider will be in touch with the parent once registration is complete – this process is handled by directly by the provider and not the school.

Please follow this link here to order a meal for your child.

COOL MILK SCHEME

We would like to bring to your attention that Milk is completely FREE to all children under the age of five and is then subsided for children aged five and over to a cost of approx £14 per term. Each pupil that registers with Cool Milk will receive a 189ml carton of fresh semi-skimmed milk every day which is delivered fresh and chilled to the classroom. The milk will not only provide them with essential nutrients, but as it is rehydrating and energy boosting it will also bridge the gap between breakfast and lunch for your child.
