Part of Coastal Learning Partnership
Collective Worship is at the heart of life at Lilliput CE Infant School. It brings our community together each day, creating a strong sense of belonging and giving children regular opportunities to reflect, celebrate and grow together.
Rooted in our Christian foundation, Collective Worship plays a key role in developing children's character and helping them understand and live out our core values of Love, Respect and Service. Through stories, prayer, reflection, music and discussion, children are encouraged to think about how they can make positive choices, care for others and contribute to their community and the wider world.
Our worship is inclusive, engaging and meaningful for all children, regardless of faith or background. While Christian teachings and values underpin our worship, we also want children to develop an understanding of the diverse world in which they live. Throughout the year, we welcome a range of visitors into school, including representatives from different Christian traditions, members of other faith communities and those with non-religious world views. These encounters help children appreciate different beliefs, challenge stereotypes and develop respect for others.
Each week, worship follows a shared theme linked to our values:
Through Collective Worship, we nurture a caring and inclusive community where every child feels valued, inspired and encouraged to flourish. By learning together, reflecting together and celebrating together, children develop the character, compassion and sense of purpose that help them make a positive difference to others.
